St. Mary's and St. Agnes' review of 2010: notable social events - 31 Dec 2010
Wednesday 27th January: Holocaust Memorial Day Service, St Mary's, 6.30pm. 'A Legacy of Hope: Voices from the Holocaust and Nazi Persecution.' A liturgy of reflective readings, prayer and music.
Tuesday February 2nd: Taize for Candlemass, St Mary's, 7.00pm. Songs and prayers from the Taize community to mark the feast of Christ's Presentation in the Jerusalem Temple.
Tuesday 6th April: Fashion Show by M&Co at M&Co Store, High Street, Newmarket, 7.15pm. Tickets £7.00 (including wine and nibbles) available from M&Co or Janet Ramsay-Helie (01638 603489).
Wednesday 28th April: Poetry and Pudding, St Agnes' church hall, 7.30pm. £5 admission, in aid of St Agnes'. Bring a favourite poem and some pudding to share. All welcome.
Tuesday 8th June: Coffee morning in aid of St Agnes', at the home of Robert and Sarah Fellowes, 26 Bury Road, 10.30am. Admission £2.00. All welcome. Donations for a raffle and/or a bring-and-buy stall or similar welcome too.
Saturday 10th July: Newmarket Carnival
CTND Carnival Float. Help with preparing this is needed on Saturday 26th June, afternoon and/or Saturday 3rd July, afternoon. Please take a letter/form from the back of the curch or contact Janet Ramsay-Helie (01638 603489) for details.
St Mary's will also be running the tea tent and donations of cakes would be much appreciated along with help on the day. We will also be having a childrens tombola.
Sunday 1st August: Car Boot Sale on the Severals, 12.00 noon - 4.00pm. Please contact Janet Ramsay-Helie for details.
Sunday 1st August: Taize Service for Lammastide, St Mary's, 6.30pm. All welcome. Refreshments.
Tuesday 17th August: Trip to the Houses of Parliament with guided tour. Tickets, adult £22, children £16, available from Janet Ramsay-Helie (01638 603489).
